近年來隨著調制葉綠素熒光技術的逐漸普及,科研人員對相關儀器的需求越來越多。調制葉綠素熒光成像技術由于可以直接對全葉片進行光合活性成像測量,結果直觀、漂亮,深受科研人員青睞。
德國WALZ公司作為調制葉綠素熒光(PAM)技術的發明單位(該技術由WALZ公司首席科學家、德國烏茲堡大學Ulrich Schreiber教授發明,Schreiber教授因該項發明而于2007年獲得首屆國際光合作用協會技術創新大獎!),其生產的PAM系列調制葉綠素熒光儀一直是國際光合作用學界的領導者和行業標準,是所有光合作用測量技術里發表文獻最多的技術!
2000年之后,WALZ公司馬上開始著手調制葉綠素熒光成像系統IMAGING-PAM的研發,并于2001年在澳大利亞召開的第12屆國際光合作用大會上正式發布,受到了熱烈歡迎。這就是后來所謂的標準版IMAGING-PAM。應客戶需求,2003年WALZ開發出了測量面積更小、但放大倍數更大的MICRO-探頭。2004年LED技術進一步取得突破,WALZ隨后馬上開發出了測量面積更大的(10 cm x 13 cm)的MAXI-探頭,并在加拿大召開的第13屆國際光合作用大會上發布,引起了劇烈反響。2005年,WALZ再接再厲,進一步開發出了MINI-和MICROSCOPY-探頭,與之前的MAXI-和MICRO-探頭一起,組成了M系列調制葉綠素熒光成像系統IMAGING-PAM,完全替代了標準版IMAGING-PAM。
M系列IMAGING-PAM面世以來,在國際上非常暢銷,在國內也有很大的用戶群。科研人員利用該系列產品發表了大量高水品文獻。下圖中是用Google學術搜索,利用WALZ、Imaging-PAM和Chlorophyll fluroescence三個關鍵詞檢索的部分文獻結果
